It is often considered like \u2018\u2018the Moldavian art\u2019s legacy\u2019\u2019. The monastery\u2019s church has been classify by UNESCO as world heritage. Surrounded by hills, the building is surrounded by walls flanked by towers with pointed roofs. Those defense walls are 6 meters tall and 3 meters thick.<\/p>\n<p>Its central church is entirely covered with frescos where the green and red outshine. Those frescos show an important number of biblical characters. Saints, prophets, chroniclers, and martyrs are counted by hundreds, their expressions extremely worked deserve to be observed one by one.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;30388&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221; onclick=&#8221;link_image&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;30391&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221; onclick=&#8221;link_image&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The construction of the initial monastic group started during the XVIth century. It lasted from 1581 to 1601.<\/p>\n<p>The first church build by the Movila\u2019s family members on the current monastic facility was of humble dimension.<\/p>\n<p>After having reached Moldova\u2019s throne in 1595, Ieremia Movila added to the church two external crossbars on the northen and southern entrance sides, then the reinforced fortifications of rectangular shape and the four enclosure towers that give to the monastery its medieval city apperance. It is located on a foothills of a plateau at 70 meter of altitude above the Suceava\u2019s mountain pasture.
